The Key (poem)

With each passing moment, the clock ticks.
Slower and slower. Just staring at the clock
With my mind full of thoughts--Too many questions--Too many what if's. Too long.
Pacing back and forth simultaneously, I begin to panic--
My thoughts are taking over. Flooding my whole entire body. Shut down.
Restart? No- No i will not allow myself i've come too far--We've come too far. But--What if?
My downfall. The reason I can't move forward. The reason for my doubts. The reason? Is you.
Difficult this has been. We've come so far only to be handed this obstacle-- The obstacle,
If not taken care of properly will determine our future--
The future we planned from the start-- Where it began--
The promises we made each other--
The key. The key is strength.
If not strong, it will not last.
Not because we don't love each other.
But, because of you.
